Our Story: The Legacy of Tony Taylor
Drawn to Puerto Galera through his work in quarry development, Tony Taylor soon fell in love with the island’s natural beauty and warm community, so much so that he eventually made it his home. Immersed in local life, he was later honored as an adopted son of Puerto Galera.
Inspired by his passion for golf and the land around him, Tony envisioned Ponderosa as a place where both could come together. With dedication and perseverance, he built his dream course high above the town, shaping each fairway into the mountain itself.
Today, his spirit lives on in every part of the resort. After his passing, Tony’s family continues his legacy, restoring and reimagining Ponderosa Golf Resort as a place that embodies his vision — a welcoming haven where families, friends, and travelers come together to relax, connect, and create lasting memories. Every corner of Ponderosa reflects the beauty, peace, and sense of belonging that inspired him.
